The participants from the Visayas and Mindanao cluster actively discuss the challenges in the implementation and plans for an improved and enhanced SAP and SAWP.

The activity was organized by the DOLE-Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns through Dir. Ahmma Charisma  Lobrin-Satumba and was attended by DOLE Undersecretary Atty. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez, RO XI Regional Director Atty. Randolf Pensoy, representatives from the different regional and field offices, SAP and SAWP focal persons, officers and accountants from Regions VI to Region XII.

In his message, Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. emphasized the importance of the activity in providing the participants with inputs that would be vital for an improved program implementation for better services and for the welfare of the marginalized workers in the sugar industry.

“Our inputs will be crucial to our decisions for an enhanced and better delivery of services. Through this activity we expect that we could come up with appropriate recommendations to close the gaps and break barriers for effective and efficient program implementation, “said RD Rodriguez who spearheaded the hosting of the activity.

The participants were presented with physical and financial accomplishments as well as the latest issuances such as the Department Order No. 234-22 Clarification on Workers Covered under DO 222-21 or the Revised Guidelines in the Implementation of the Social Amelioration and Welfare Program for Workers in the Biofuel Industry, Utilizing Molasses as Feedstock and DOLE Department Order No. 225-21 Department Order 225-21 Amending Department Order No. 194-18, or the Revised Guidelines on the Implementation of the Social Amelioration and Welfare Program (SAWP) for Workers in the Biofuel Industry, Utilizing Coconut as Feedstock.
